What a terrific product! I can see a ton of application for this!
I am one of the coach's (owners) of a 10U boys baseball team and located in the Mecca of travel baseball for SE Michigan. I just purchased it today and am anxious to try it wiht my son this afternoon. I dont see why every parent of a baseball player would not want this application to not only monitor pitch velocity but velocity off the bat. I intend to utilize this in all of my teams training from pitching, hitting to running bases. If there is any additional support I can provide I am happy to do so.
Yes - Velocity does work for batting or pitching. Just set Velocity 20 feet to the side of the batter (and about 5 feet forward if you have an iPhone 6) (for earlier devices set it 20 feet forward.)
Velocity off the bat would be nice. Can it do that now though? Just reverse the placement? Instead of from the mound, measure from the plate. Might want to protect your phone though. One foul ball and goodbye iphone.
