There appears to be something wrong with your lighting or setup. (i.e. low light will drop the shutter speeds and you will lose high speeds.) We have tested the app with a ball machine that pitched at 90mph and with tennis servers at over 100mph. Please contact us direct: support@athla.com or on Facebook.com/athlavelocity and we can help get things fixed for you.

Yes - this feature is on our roadmap. We hope to bring it to the app soon.

Yes - Velocity does work for batting or pitching. Just set Velocity 20 feet to the side of the batter (and about 5 feet forward if you have an iPhone 6) (for earlier devices set it 20 feet forward.)

Great idea! We do already have a speed radar for cars on our roadmap and hope to release it eventually - but currently it is not yet available. We do not have a release date estimated at this time.

Yes, as per the setup instructions, the device needs to be placed exactly 20 feet away from the line of the ball. That is where it has optimal accuracy.

You can unlock speeds higher than 40 mph with the in-app purchase. We created up to 40 mph free so (1) it is free for kids and (2) if you are older, you can prove to yourself that the technology actually works before you purchased it to discover your actual top throw speed. Hope that helps!

We would love to port it to Android!

Vote and let us know which Android phones we should target first.

We need to know the hardware to best target as we would need to configure the App for each Android phone to account for the variations in the cameras and the GPU. An Android port is definitely on our radar.
